RESADA Rehabilitation Campus
Las Animas , Colorado

Reliant Construction executed the RESADA Rehabilitation Campus through a multi-phase delivery model requiring comprehensive coordination of civil infrastructure, utility systems, and building services. The project demanded detailed planning and integration of water distribution, sanitary sewer, stormwater management, and franchised utilities to support phased expansion while maintaining constructability, code compliance, and long-term system performance.

Phase 1: Site Redevelopment & Core Infrastructure

This phase established the site’s utility backbone through demolition, utility removal, and installation of new systems.

  • Verification and removal of existing underground utilities
  • Installation of domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm systems
  • Utility coordination and tie-ins with local providers
  • Grading and drainage design for long-term performance

Infrastructure was sized and routed to support future expansion. Concurrently, a 4,500 SF PEMB was constructed with all utility connections coordinated during foundation work.

Phase 2: MEP Systems Integration

Phase 2 focused on integrating building systems with site utilities.

  • Domestic water distribution, DWV systems, and venting
  • Grease waste and specialized plumbing for commercial kitchen
  • Fire protection tied to site water supply
  • Coordination of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems

High-demand areas required careful system sizing and coordination to ensure efficiency and code compliance.

Phase 3: Campus Expansion & Utility Distribution (RESADA 3.0)

This phase expanded utilities across multiple buildings, requiring coordinated sitewide infrastructure.

  • Extension of water, sewer, and electrical systems
  • Utility tie-ins to existing modular and outpatient facilities
  • Stormwater system expansion and site drainage coordination
  • Integration of site lighting, security, and access systems

Phasing and utility mapping were critical to maintaining uninterrupted operations during construction.

Phase 4: RESADA 4.0 (Design & Preconstruction)

Current efforts focus on early coordination to reduce risk and improve constructability.

  • Utility routing and capacity planning
  • Water, sewer, and storm system design for expanded use
  • Coordination of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
  • BIM-based clash detection and constructability review

Project Outcome

The RESADA campus reflects a coordinated approach to utility infrastructure across all phases. Systems were designed and installed to support expansion, minimize rework, and ensure reliable long-term performance.
