CCV School District Trades Shop
Cripple Creek, Colorado

Reliant Construction partnered with the Cripple Creek Victor (CCV) School District to deliver a new 7,200-square-foot trades shop facility designed to support hands-on technical education. Built as a pre-engineered metal structure, this project reflects a practical, efficient construction approach tailored to durability, functionality, and long-term use.

Project Overview

The new facility was constructed to provide a dedicated environment for construction trades training. The building was designed and built to accommodate both instructional and operational needs, with a focus on flexibility and performance.

The completed facility includes:

  • A large open shop area for hands-on training
  • Men’s and women’s restrooms
  • Office and administrative space
  • Utility and storage rooms
  • A single-bay garage for equipment and vehicle access
  • Expanded site features including parking and outdoor gathering areas

Efficient Building Systems & Construction

The project utilized a pre-engineered metal building system to streamline construction, reduce timelines, and provide a durable structure suited for heavy-use educational environments. Large overhead doors were incorporated to allow for movement of equipment and materials, supporting real-world training scenarios.

Reliant coordinated all major building systems to ensure seamless integration during construction, including:

  • Structural foundation design aligned with the metal building system
  • Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems installed to meet the functional demands of a working trades facility
  • Interior layouts optimized for workflow, safety, and accessibility

Site Development & Infrastructure

Construction included full site development to support the new facility and its daily use. Work included:

  • Site grading and drainage improvements
  • Parking layout and ADA-accessible routes
  • Curbing, paving, and access drives
  • Utility coordination to support building operations

These elements were constructed to ensure long-term performance, safe access, and ease of maintenance.

Quality Control & Project Execution

Throughout construction, Reliant maintained a hands-on approach to project delivery, ensuring all work aligned with the project documents and client expectations. This included:

  • Review and coordination of shop drawings and submittals
  • On-site visits to monitor construction progress and quality
  • Ongoing communication with project stakeholders to address field conditions and maintain schedule

By maintaining close oversight and coordination, the team delivered a facility that meets both functional and performance goals.

Built for Hands-On Learning

The completed trades shop provides CCV students with a purpose-built environment that mirrors real-world construction settings. From structural systems to interior functionality, every aspect of the project was executed to support practical training and long-term durability.
