ABOUT Reliant construction
Company history
Reliant Construction was built on a long-standing partnership rooted in experience, integrity, and a commitment to quality. Since 1987, Wendel Torres and Brad Hix have worked together delivering General Contracting, Construction Management, and Design-Build services to clients across the country. With more than three decades of combined experience, their collaboration has become a trusted name in construction throughout the Front Range and beyond.
In January 2000, Torres and Hix formally joined forces to establish Torix General Contractors, a firm focused on federal construction projects. As a Chief Metal Buildings builder, Torix quickly grew into a successful and respected contractor. After years of growth and achievement, Torix was sold in 2008, allowing the partners to realign with their long-term vision of client-focused service and operational excellence.
Following the sale and completion of existing contracts in 2011, Torres and Hix dedicated time to mentoring small businesses and refining their approach to project delivery. This period of transition ultimately led to the founding of Construction Consulting Solutions, Inc., doing business as Reliant Construction, in 2013.
Since opening its doors, Reliant Construction has established itself as a full-service general contractor committed to delivering high-quality construction services with efficiency, transparency, and clear communication. The company holds Class “A” General Contractor licenses in Colorado, Texas, and Florida, and is currently pursuing licensure in Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. It serves a diverse client base, including municipalities, federal agencies, school districts, healthcare providers, developers, and private owners.
In 2019, Reliant strengthened its capabilities by forming a strategic joint venture with Hartland Excavation, creating HERC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) General Contractor. That same year, Reliant began a key partnership with Varco Pruden Metal Buildings, further expanding its expertise and offerings in pre-engineered metal building systems, following the earlier legacy of working with Chief Metal Buildings through Torix.
Throughout their careers, Torres and Hix have completed projects for organizations such as the City of Colorado Springs, the State of Colorado, El Paso County, the City and County of Denver, Denver International Airport, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and numerous private sector clients. Their work has earned recognition for excellence and reflects a consistent dedication to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Reliant Construction has also developed strong partnerships within the commercial sector, working with respected clients such as Sodexo, Wells Fargo, and Goodwill, as well as premier hospitality and private organizations including The Broadmoor and Garden of the Gods Country Club. These relationships demonstrate the company’s ability to deliver tailored construction solutions across a wide range of industries, from corporate and community-focused projects to high-end hospitality environments.
Today, Reliant Construction continues to build on this legacy. Guided by a simple mission—to provide high-quality construction services in an efficient and transparent manner—the company remains focused on delivering projects that meet each client’s unique needs while upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship and professionalism.
